[Writer to brother Roger states] I am in hospital with a broken leg - three weeks ago - by shrapnel. Apart from that I'm very well. Now about Jean-Paul. It's going to be quite a shock thats why I'm writing you and you can tell the rest. I did all I could Roger, thats how I got hit. He was badly wounded. His last words were ''You write them at home and tell Roger.'' I stayed by him a little and then was picked up. From here I'm going to a concentration camp. I'm not the only one - a great part of my regiment with some officers and English speaking Canadians.
